After obtaining his license to practice law in Colorado in 1976, Charles C.
Powers achieved a license to practice law in Florida in 1977. From 1977
through 1984, Charles Powers was a member of the prestigious civil litigation
firm of Montgomery, Lytal, Rieter, Denny and Searcy in West Palm Beach
Florida before opening his own Florida practice. In addition to winning cases
tried before Judges and juries in both state and federal courts, Charles
Powers has also won many appeals in both Colorado and Florida.
In 1997, the late Gordon Rowe, Jr. and Charles Powers opened a law office in
South Fork, Colorado together. Charles Powers took over the law office after
Mr. Rowe passed away, and has remained in the San Luis Valley since then.
Charles Powers handles civil litigation of all types, as well as real estate
transactions such as closings, Title insurance, zoning, subdivision and other
real property and probate matters.
Charles Powers was given an AV rating - the highest rating possible - by
Martindale-Hubble. Professionally, Charles Powers is a member of the
Colorado bar, the Florida Bar, and the Federalist Society. He is also a member
of the Board of Trustees of the Creede Repertory Theatre and the Mineral
County Tourism Tax Board and is special litigation counsel for the City of
Creede. Charles Powers currently resides in Creede, Colorado with his wife
and children.
